I am a clinical and research psychiatrist working with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and the Borden Street Clinic where I am co-director.
I am cross-appointed within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto in the departments of Psychiatry and Nutritional science.
My interests include the interaction between nutrition and mental health, meditation, music and mental health, Focusing Oriented and other body based psychotherapy. I took courses with Mary Armstrong to become a Focusing Trainer and I integrate focusing with all aspects of my work.
In my hospital-based practice I work with inpatients diagnosed with refractory psychosis and outpatients with metabolic conditions. I am the founding director of the Mental Health and Metabolism Clinic focused on the management of metabolic conditions in clients with serious mental illness. In my private practice at the Borden Street Clinic I assess and treat clients dealing with Attention Deficit Disorder, Anxiety and Depression.
